Student Alumni Association Accepting SAB Applications

The Student Alumni Association is currently accepting applications for the 2013-14 SAB Executive Officer positions. Applications can be picked up at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House or downloaded from the Student Alumni Board website, arkansasalumni.org/sab.

SAA is a registered student organization (RSO) that works in collaboration with campus organizations with three main purposes:

  1. To preserve University of Arkansas traditions.
  2. To connect University of Arkansas students and alumni.
  3. To educate students about the Arkansas Alumni Association.

Applications submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, March 1, to the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House or via email to saa@uark.edu will receive full consideration. Selected students will be notified to confirm their follow up interview. Interviews will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 6, through Friday, March 8.

Applicants will need to come to the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House, to sign up for an interview. All applicants must meet co-curricular requirements as outlined in the Code of Student Life.

Vice President Outreach & Diversity:
The VP of Outreach & Diversity will serve as the liaison for the SAA for collaborative opportunities with campus organizations. This officer will also introduce University traditions to new and transfer students during spring and summer orientation sessions.  

Vice President of Homecoming:
The VP of Homecoming will coordinate all programming for the 2013 Official University of Arkansas Homecoming celebration. This officer will work with campus and community organizations to facilitate a week of competitive philanthropic events celebrating the Razorback spirit.  

Vice President of Senior Experience:
The VP of Senior Experience will work with the AAA staff and campus organizations to coordinate the senior activities for University of Arkansas students, including Grad Salute, the Official Ring Ceremonies and commencement festivities.  

Vice President of Alumni Relations:
The VP of Alumni Relations will work with the AAA staff to seek out opportunities for students to engage with Alumni. This officer will also present SAA updates periodically to chapter and National Alumni boards.

Vice President of Communications:
The VP of Communications coordinates all communications for the SAA and SAB programming. This officer works with the AAA communications team to promote SAA activity and also with the VP of Student Education & Membership to compose the bi-annual SAA eNewsletter.  

Vice President of Student Education & Membership:
The VP of Student Education & Membership is responsible for the formulation of a year-long education and recruitment plan for S.A.A. This officer will also introduce the history and traditions of the University of Arkansas at New, Transfer & International Student Orientations along with VP of Outreach & Diversity, and work with SAB VP of Communications to organize and distribute the SAA eNewsletter.

President:
The President of the SAB will serve as the official representative of the Student Alumni Association. This officer coordinates all meetings and activities for the Student Alumni Board and reports on behalf of the SAA to the National Alumni Board.
