Membership Meeting and Open House Set for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The first membership meeting for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Arkansas School of Continuing Education and Academic Outreach will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Center for Continuing Education on the Fayetteville Square. New members will have a chance to join prior to the meeting, or during an open house from 11 a.m. to noon.

More than 100 members joined the institute in September for its first semester of classes. The expanded spring 2007 class schedule will be announced during the membership meeting, and members will have an opportunity to enroll in classes during the session. Also during the meeting the institute steering committee will discuss how things went during the first semester and members will learn about new volunteer opportunities. The membership meeting will be held in the CCE auditorium, and members must present their membership cards to attend the meeting.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is welcome to attend the fall open house, which will be held in the lobby of the Continuing Education Center. Men and women over 50 will have an opportunity to join the institute as charter members at this time. They’ll also have a chance to look over the class schedule for the spring semester and register for classes as well. Refreshments will be served.
