Multicultural Center Hires New Director

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Division of Student Affairs is proud to announce that Cedric Kenner is the new director of the Multicultural Center, starting the position this week. Kenner comes to the center from within the UA Division of Student Affairs, where he was the associate director of career education in the Career Development Center.

"We are looking forward to the many contributions Mr. Kenner will make to further the educational mission of the Multicultural Center and to help advance our institutional commitment to diversity," said Carmen Coustaut, associate vice chancellor for institutional diversity and education, to whom Kenner directly reports for this position.

Kenner has a varied background that includes military service as well as solid experience working directly with students. He holds a bachelor of arts in administration of justice, and a master of science in workforce education and development, both from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is currently a candidate for an Ed.D. in workforce development education at the University of Arkansas. Kenner was on active duty as military police with the U.S. Navy from July 2001 to May 2005. Much of his experience working with students comes from his time as an academic adviser at various institutions as well as his most recent position at the UA.

The Multicultural Center enhances the University of Arkansas academic experience by   collaborating with the university community to provide educational, cultural, and social programs to assist in the development and advancement of an inclusive learning community.
