National Honor Society Interest Meeting
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Interested in being a part of the proposed re-chartering of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society at the University of Arkansas? Anyone interested is invited to attend one of two meetings on Thursday, April 5, the first at noon and the second at 6 p.m. in Arkansas Union Room 503.
Founded Dec. 3, 1914, at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., Omicron Delta Kappa is one of the oldest honor societies in the United States. It is the only society that primarily recognizes student leadership in all phases of college life. The society recognizes and encourages achievement in five major phases of campus life: scholarship; athletics; campus or community service, social and religious activities, and campus government; journalism, speech, and the mass media; and creative and performing arts.
Omicron Delta Kappa members are selected based on five qualifications of membership: exemplary character, responsible leadership and service in campus or community life, superior scholarship, genuine fellowship, and consecration of democratic ideals.
