New Students, Potential Students Get a University of Arkansas Welcome

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — The University of Arkansas Office of Admissions will host a series of "Head to the Hill" receptions for admitted students and their families at a dozen cities in Arkansas and neighboring states starting in April. Prospective juniors and seniors from these areas have been invited to join the University of Arkansas for these occasions as well.

"Head to the Hill" is a send-off for students who are going to the Fayetteville campus in the fall and provides them an opportunity to mingle with prospective and admitted students from their area, meet UA faculty and staff, and experience the university by visiting with local alumni.

"We're welcoming them to the U of A family and helping them make early connections with other students and families," says Melissa Bowen, alumni recruiting coordinator. "We're also inviting future prospective students so that they can visit with current and new students about why they chose the University of Arkansas."

Students and parents will be able to meet with representatives of various departments from the University of Arkansas, including the Office of Admissions.

The first “Head to the Hill” event will be held April 3 in Joplin, Mo., with other gatherings set for Pine Bluff, Texarkana, Dallas, Tulsa, Springfield, Fayetteville, Oklahoma City, Fort Smith, Jonesboro, Memphis and Little Rock in the following weeks.
