Quarterly Business Analysis to Address Prospects for Recovery from the Current Recession

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Center for Business and Economic Research in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is partnering with the Northwest Arkansas Chambers of Commerce to host a Quarterly Business Analysis breakfast on Friday, July 10. The breakfast event will be held at 6:45 a.m. at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center, 1500 South 48th Street, Springdale, Ark., 72762.

Kathy Deck, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research, will present a program that provides statistical highlights from the second quarter of 2009, key economic trends, and short- and long-term issues facing the local and state economy. "Some of the most recent data points provide a glimmer of hope that the worst of the downturn may be behind us. As the economy moves toward recovery, our leaders must engage in strategic positioning to ensure that the region prospers,” said Deck.

The primary purpose of the Quarterly Business Analysis program is to build networks of leaders from business, academic and governmental sectors in the region. The goal is solid and sustainable economic development in Arkansas. "The Quarterly Business Analysis program is designed to help our community leaders make better informed decisions," said Deck.

The program will last for approximately 60 minutes including time for question and answer. The cost for the Quarterly Business Analysis program and breakfast is $35. Preregistration by Wednesday, July 8, is required. Reservations can be made online for the breakfast at http://cber.uark.edu/ or by calling 479-575-4151.
