SCHOOL OF LAW NEGOTIATIONS COMPETITION TO BEGIN TONIGHT

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas School of Law and the Board of Advocates will host the 2002 American Bar Association Negotiations Competition beginning at 6 p.m., tonight, in the Courtroom of the Leflar Law Center.

A total of 48 two-person teams will compete in the intra-school event with the final rounds set for 6 and 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17. The first two rounds will be held Monday at 6 and 8 p.m., respectively with the following two rounds at the same times on Tuesday.

The competition involves teams working to successfully represent a client’s interest in a settlement negotiation with opposing counsel. Local attorneys will act as judges for the event.

The winning team along with two other participants chosen from the intra-school competition will represent the university at the regional event in Austin, Texas on Nov. 15 and 16.
