SIFE Team Teaches Area Students Basics of Business at Willy Walton’s Chocolate Factory
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas’ Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is holding its seventh annual Willy Walton’s Chocolate Factory event.
When: Saturday, Feb. 25, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development, University of Arkansas campus, parking in the Harmon Avenue Parking Garage.
Willy Walton’s Chocolate Factory is designed to teach 3rd through 6th graders about business by highlighting the chocolate industry. Students attend classes in market economics, production, budgeting, advertising, currency conversion and business ethics. At the end of the day, they take everything they have learned and create their own imaginary chocolate company, complete with a business plan, budget, and advertising model.
Students in Free Enterprise is a service organization that aims to better the community by learning, practicing, and teaching the principles of free enterprise. Willy Walton’s is one of the U of A’s oldest and most successful programs, having won Best Free Enterprise Project honors at SIFE National Competition in 2003.Contacts
