STUDENT ORGANIZATION TO CONDUCT EXPERIMENTS FOR NATIONAL CHEMISTRY WEEK

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - For the ninth consecutive year, the University of Arkansas Student Affiliates Chapter of the American Chemical Society (ACS) will conduct a series of interactive demonstrations at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in celebration of National Chemistry Week. 

The event will take place Sunday, Oct. 26, from noon to 3:30 pm.

Students and faculty from the department of chemistry and biochemistry will guide spectators of all ages through informative hands-on demonstrations including the popular paper chromatography and liquid nitrogen experiments.

Free information about science projects and at-home experiments will be available. There will also be a drawing for free T-shirts and other prizes. 

The Student Affiliates Chapter has received honors from the ACS for their outreach projects. The officers for 2003-2004 are President Steven Neal, Vice President Matthew Loshe, Treasurer Neil Tracy and Secretary Matthew Whitley. The faculty advisors are Gwen Mattice and Joshua Sakon.
