Sustainable Energy Technology
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Nate Lewis, an
expert in alternative energy, will be present a seminar entitled, “Scientific
Challenges in Sustainable Energy Technology,” at 4 p.m. Monday, April 10, in
the Arkansas Union Theater.
Lewis is the George L. Argyros Professor of Chemistry in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. His presentation will describe and evaluate the technical, political and economic challenges involved with widespread adoption of renewable energy technologies.
His research projects include the development of an “electronic nose” that is capable of detecting multiple vapors or odors simultaneously, and elucidating fundamental chemical processes in semiconductors that can be used in solar energy conversion.
