Ð Jim Snow, an instructor in the department of vocational and adult education in the College of Education and Health Professions, was recognized and awarded the Master School Board Member award for outstanding service on the Gentry School Board at the annual awards banquet of the Arkansas School Boards Association in Little Rock on Dec. 1, 1999.

Snow, who has served on the Gentry School Board for three years, was presented the Master School Board Member award by Dan Farley, the executive director of the Arkansas School Boards Association, in the New Ballroom of the Statehouse Convention Center. The awards ceremony is part of the annual tradition of thanking those citizens who have dedicated themselves to serving on the school boards in their respective communities across Arkansas.

"ItÕs an honor to be recognized for doing a job I love," Snow said. "Volunteering on the school board is such an important way to serve my community Ð it's an experience I wouldn't trade for anything. The soundness of our school's academics, the enthusiasm of our teachers and the positive development of our children is crucial to the success of our community. I'm glad to be a part of the process."

"Dr. SnowÕs contributions to the Gentry School Board reinforce what we already know about Jim Ð that heÕs an exceptional member of the College and the community," said Charles Stegman, dean of the College of Education and Health Professions.
