UA SIFE to Teach Business Basics

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Students In Free Enterprise will present “C.E.O. from Head to Toe” on Oct. 28 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development on the University of Arkansas campus.

The one-day, program is designed to teach potential women entrepreneurs, age 18 and up, vital business techniques and strategies and to offer aid to self-employed individuals who want to help their businesses grow. Advanced registration is requested by emailing the project coordinator Jannae Rieske at srieske@uark.edu.   

The beginner “C.E.O. from Head to Toe” section will go from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will offer how-to lessons on Internet-based business, writing business plans, beginning accounting/budgeting for small businesses, and obtaining a small business loans.  It will culminate in a question and answer session with local entrepreneurs to answer additional questions. 

The advanced section will also be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include information on using the Internet to expand an existing business, advanced accounting/choosing an accountant, managing rapid growth, marketing and legal issues. This section will also include a question and answer session, and participants will get to meet individually or in small groups with business consultants. This program will be facilitated by several local entrepreneurs and business professionals.
