UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES HOST GEORGE FISHER PRESENTATION

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Libraries are proud to host Arkansas political cartoonist George Fisher for a special presentation in Mullins Library Wednesday, October 15, at 4:00 p.m.

George Fisher’s editorial cartoons were a regular and beloved feature of Arkansas newspapers from the early 1960s until the early 1990s. His extraordinary courage, insight, and talent made him the most influential social and political satirist in the state’s history and put him in the first rank of American cartoonists.

Mr. Fisher will treat viewers to a glimpse into his "world." His presentation in the Helen Robson Walton Reading Room will be followed immediately with a reception and book signing. Books published by the U of A Press featuring Fisher’s cartoons will be available for purchase at the event or through the University Bookstore. The public is cordially invited to attend.
