FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas Press’ Live Nude Girl: My Life as an Object, by Kathleen Rooney, has been receiving quite a bit of national attention. Rooney will be a guest on NPR’s Talk of the Nation on Monday, March 9, to talk about her book. The show can be heard from 1 to 3 p.m. every day on the HD3 channel of radio station KUAF 91.3.

There was also a recent article about the book on The Huffington Post and a very positive review in the current March-April issue of the popular Utne Reader magazine. Other strong reviews have appeared in the Los Angeles Times and a “starred review” appeared in the national book trade magazine, Publishers Weekly.

Garrison Keillor’s The Writer’s Almanac will be reading another poem from one of the press’ poetry collections. On March 22 Keillor will read a Billy Collins poem from The Apple that Astonished Paris. Published by the University of Arkansas Press in 1988, it was Collins’ very first book and continues to be the press’ best-selling poetry title. The poem is titled “Introduction to Poetry.” It is one of the most requested poems for reprinting from all of the press’ poetry collections. The Writer’s Almanac has read three poems from University of Arkansas Press collections in the past couple of months. The show can be heard every day on KUAF at 9 a.m.
