Walton College Appoints New Graduate Assistant Dean

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas has appointed Marion Dunagan as assistant dean for graduate programs.

Dunagan was previously vice chancellor for enrollment management at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith. She holds a bachelor of arts in anthropology and a master of arts in English from the University of Arkansas. She has 17 years of experience in higher education.

Dunagan replaces Michele Halsell, who is now managing director of the Walton College’s new Applied Sustainability Center. Halsell was the founding managing director of the college’s Graduate School of Business.

“We are very pleased to find someone with Marion’s experience and skills to continue the work that Michele began with our graduate programs,” said Bill Curington, senior associate dean for academic programs and research. “Michele made enormous contributions to the success of the graduate school. She was instrumental in building our new full-time MBA program that is focused on the retail and consumer products goods industry.”

The Walton College Graduate School of Business, which recently moved to Willard J. Walker Hall, offers a full-time Master of Business Administration program as well as a managerial/part-time MBA program. In addition, the school offers master’s degrees in accounting, economics and information systems as well as doctorate degrees in accounting, finance, economics, information systems, marketing, and management.
