Worrell Reappointed as Dean of Walton College

Dean Dan Worrell
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Dan Worrell, dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas, has been reappointed to serve as dean of the college through Aug. 15, 2012.
His reappointment was announced in response to an extensive review of his accomplishments and after receiving feedback from all the relevant constituent groups. Dean Worrell has worked extensively to increase the reputation and rankings of the Walton College, as well as the endowment of the college. After August 2012, Worrell intends to transition to his role as a faculty member in the department of management by re-energizing his previously successful research and teaching career.
Provost Sharon Gaber said she appreciates Worrell’s leadership to the college and campus community, and his willingness to continue to guide the college through its upcoming AACSB accreditation visit.
Chancellor G. David Gearhart praised Worrell for his significant accomplishments the past five years as dean and is grateful he is signing on for two additional years as dean.
