Staff Senate Announces the 2009 Outstanding Staff Team Award

The University of Arkansas Staff Senate is pleased to announce Betsy Allen and Connie Miller of Counseling and Psychological Services as the 2009 Outstanding Staff Team Award recipients.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is part of the Pat Walker Health Center and is the primary provider of counseling and mental health services to University of Arkansas students. Betsy and Connie have been part of the staff for close to ten years and have always been integral members of the CAPS team. In 2009, Allen and Miller founded Mental Health Administrative Professionals, an organization addressing the specific needs and concerns of administrative staff members in counseling centers across the country. The success of the group has allowed the University of Arkansas to share ideas and strategies with other similar agencies, and it has also given the CAPS staff an opportunity to learn from other mental health professionals and campus counseling units. This chance to learn from others and implement new ideas has resulted in several key improvements in CAPS’ ability to serve our students and campus community as a whole.

The Outstanding Staff Team will be recognized at the Staff Senate meeting on Thursday, Feb. 11, at 9:30 a.m. in Giffels Auditorium of Old Main. The team will receive a plaque and a cash award of $2,500. Please join us in congratulating Betsy Allen and Connie Miller!
