Global Campus Offers Program Planning Certification

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Global Campus at the University of Arkansas will host the Program Management Institute, offered through the Learning Resources Network, April 6-9.

The institute will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, through Thursday, April 8, followed by the Certified Program Planner exam from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, April 9, at the Global Campus, on the downtown Fayetteville square. Registration is $500 per participant, and seating is limited.

Participants who pass the exam will earn the Learning Resources Network’s Certified Program Planner designation. The network is the leading association in class and event programming, offering a standard of achievement and excellence in the knowledge of lifelong learning programs. Begun in 1974, the network serves more than 9,000 professionals every year, providing practical, how-to information on marketing, finances, management and product development.

Participants will receive a Certified Program Planner manual with key information from network publications and manuals, covering topics such as pricing, surveys, promotion, finding and keeping good teachers, needs assessments, and developing programs and community programs.

Fred Bayley, a senior consultant of the Learning Resources Network, will facilitate the institute. He is president of Kiteline Consulting and has worked in the field more than 30 years. The network named him one of 30 “History Makers,” recognizing him not only for his substantial contributions to the education field, but as one of the true visionaries from across the country.
