Journalism Student Will Present Paper at National Convention
Jessica Powviriya, a master’s student in journalism, had a refereed paper accepted for presentation at a national convention, the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
Jessica’s paper submitted to the association's Advertising Division Student Paper Competition is titled "An Analysis of NARB Panel Decisions Before 1994." This competition is typically entered by doctoral students from major advertising, public relations and mass communication doctoral programs.
Founded in Chicago in 1912, the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication is the oldest and largest alliance of journalism and mass communication educators and administrators at the college level. Today, the association has some 3,600 members around the world. The association's conventions attract more than half these members each year to various destinations throughout the United States and Canada.
Jessica’s paper analyzes decisions made by the National Advertising Review Board, part of the major self-regulatory group of the national advertising industry.
