Research Center to Host Quarterly Business Analysis

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Center for Business and Economic Research in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is partnering with the Northwest Arkansas Chambers of Commerce to host a Quarterly Business Analysis breakfast on Friday, June 25.

The event will be held at 6:45 a.m. at the Shewmaker Center for Workforce Technologies on the campus of NorthWest Arkansas Community College at 1100 SE Eagle Way, Bentonville, Ark.

The Center for Business and Economic Research’s program will focus on the northwest Arkansas economy and the region’s path to economic recovery. Kathy Deck, director of the center, will present a program that provides statistical highlights from the second quarter of 2010, key economic trends, and short- and long-term issues facing the regional and state economy. She said, "Northwest Arkansas has come through the recession in better shape than most metros in the country. The business decisions made in the coming months will be critical for determining the region’s growth path over the next decade.”

The primary purpose of the Quarterly Business Analysis program is to build networks of leaders from business, academic and governmental sectors in the region. The goal is solid and sustainable economic development in Arkansas. “The Quarterly Business Analysis program is designed to help our community leaders make better informed decisions,” said Deck.

The program will last for approximately 75 minutes including time for question and answer. The cost for the Quarterly Business Analysis program and breakfast is $35. Preregistration by Wednesday, June 23, is required. Reservations can be made online for the breakfast at http://cber.uark.edu/ or by calling 479-575-4151.
