ISIS Offers Overview of Upgrade Changes

You’ve heard the buzz about the ISIS 9.0 upgrade. Now you can have a sneak peek of the changes you’ll see when the new ISIS goes live on Oct. 11. "What’s New in ISIS 9.0," a broad overview of changes in the first of a two-phase upgrade, will be presented in nine identical sessions scheduled throughout September. The campus community is invited to attend the session, which addresses new offerings in ISIS as well as system enhancements.

While most of the changes in this upgrade will occur behind the scenes, some users, such as advisers, will see new options. The new comprehensive Adviser Center is a one-stop shop for all things needed for effective student advising. System enhancements have occurred with service indicators, also known as holds. While offering the same functionality, there is a new summary page, and a new way to view, add, and edit service indicators. The informational session will also cover the new tab navigation structure and enhancements made to the Faculty and Student Centers.

"What’s New in ISIS 9.0" will be held in the Old Main Giffels Auditorium from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sept. 9, 16, and 23. Two sessions a day will be held at Mullins Library Room 104 on Sept. 7, 14, and 21. The morning session will be held from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and the afternoon session will meet from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

All sessions are open to the campus community, however, registration is recommended due to limited seating. To register for a session simply go to the IT Services training and workshop web page. A downloadable calendar with all September ISIS Upgrade sessions is available at http://www.uark.edu/admin/isisdir/Documents/v9/trainsept.pdf.

An overview of the session is available for download at http://www.uark.edu/admin/isisdir/Documents/v9/newin90.pdf. If your college or administrative group would like to schedule a private overview session please contact the ISIS Training Team at isistrn@uark.edu.
