Education Professor's Book Printed in Spanish for Argentine University
Christopher J. Lucas
Students at the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina, will learn about the history of American higher education from a book written by University of Arkansas professor Christopher J. Lucas.
Lucas' 2006 book "American Higher Education: A History" published by Palgrave Macmillan was printed in Spanish this year by the private university located in the capital city of the second-largest South American country. Palermo, which lists enrollment of 13,000 students, offers master's and doctoral degree programs in higher education.
Lucas, professor of higher education and educational statistics and research methods in the College of Education and Health Professions, has taught at the University of Arkansas since 1993. He has written several other books about higher education as well as histories of the College of Education and Health Professions here and of the College of Education at the University of Missouri, Columbia, where he taught from 1967 to 1991.
American Higher Education, which has about 400 pages, was divided into two volumes and bound in a simple purple and black cover for the Spanish printing.
