Former Bush Adviser to Give Education Reform Lecture
Sandy Kress, an attorney who served as senior adviser to President George W. Bush on education with respect to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, will give a lecture at noon Friday, Nov. 19, titled "Touchdown: Ensuring Secondary Credential Attainment of K-12 Students" on the University of Arkansas campus.
Kress, senior counsel in the Austin office of the law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld LLP, is also a fellow and director of policy development and outreach at the George W. Bush Institute and a senior fellow of the James B. Hunt Jr. Institute for Educational Leadership. He previously served as president of the board of trustees of the Dallas Public Schools.
The talk will be in Room 343 of the Graduate Education building. It is part of the lecture series sponsored by the department of education reform.
