Michael Dodd

Michael Dodd is the Center for Leadership and Community Engagement's Student Leader of the Week for Feb. 27 to March 5.

Dodd is from Leawood, Kan., and is majoring in transportation and logistics.

Dodd is involved with ASG Senate, Phi Gamma Delta, IFC Executive Board, vice chair of Campus Council, Transportation Logistics Association, All University Conduct Board, Greek Life Facilitators and Global Greeks.

Dodd believes that it is important to be a servant as a leader: being selfless and faithful is the most effective way to lead by example.

“Don’t let leadership aspirations get in the way of your friendships. Enjoy the relationships life offers, because at the end of the day nothing else matters,” Dodd explained. " I believe success should not be defined as the amount of respect or acclaim you get, but rather the way you carry out your life’s purpose. Humility is a key to leadership; when you get caught up in pride, life will find a way to humble you.”

Michael's most memorable Razorback moment was being in the New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and being able to see the blocked punt by Colton Miles-Nash in the Sugar Bowl. He thinks that this moment was the peak of Razorback athletics on the national stage since 1994.

His favorite quote is the Bible verse James 1:2: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”
