HR Personal Finances Series: Building a Portfolio for any Weather

Join Human Resources for the last seminar in the Personal Finances Series at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 14 in the Arkansas Union, Room 513.

The July 14 seminar is titled "Building a Portfolio for any Weather" and will be presented by Miguel Salazar, the campus' Fidelity representative. He will present on the basics of building a portfolio. This workshop describes how to create an investment strategy for your workplace savings. It is designed for those who are looking to understand more about how to finance their lifestyle in the future. This seminar covers:

  1. The principles of investing, the importance of creating an investment mix, and the relationship between risk and return. 
  2. The characteristics of the key investment types, which include stocks, bonds, and short term investment. 
  3. Review of your plan details and plan’s investment options to help you determine the right investment strategy for your situation. 
  4. Ways to help you stay on track, including how to monitor and rebalance your portfolio when necessary. 
  5. How Fidelity can help you with your investment needs and next steps.
