The University Libraries’ special collections department created a display for one of the three cases in the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport’s new concourse. Catherine Wallack, the architectural records archivist, led the special collections project that uses vintage postcard images to create a sense of place specific to Northwest Arkansas.

The postcards illustrate the natural beauty of the area and provide a glimpse of what the area has to offer visitors. The Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale and the Museum of Native American Artifacts in Bentonville created displays for the other two cases. The concourse opens to travelers on Thursday, Sept. 1. The displays will rotate among various organizations every six months.
