Chemistry Doctoral Student Wins Poster Award
Ryan Thurman, a doctoral candidate in chemistry, won one of eight awards for outstanding graduate student poster for his presentation “Characterization of the FGFR Mutations Involved in Disease,” at the 25th annual meeting of the Protein Society in Boston. His research was done under the direction of Suresh Kumar.
Thurman is from Springfield, Mo., and has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from University of Central Arkansas.
The society annually recognizes outstanding student posters. This year’s awards were sponsored by Eli Lilly.
The Protein Society is the leading international society devoted to furthering research and development in protein science. The purpose of the society is to provide international forums to facilitate communication, cooperation and collaboration with respect to all aspects of the study of proteins.
