New Inquiry Editor Selected

Marcia A. Shobe, associate professor in the School of Social Work, has been named the new editor of the Inquiry.

Shobe received her doctorate from the University of Kansas and joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas in August 2007. During her tenure Shobe has been principal investigator on grants totaling more than $500,000 primarily from the Department of Health and Human Services and she has authored or coauthored more than 15 articles. In 2010, Shobe was awarded the International Award for Social Work Research by the International Journal of Arts and Sciences. She assumed the responsibility as editor of Inquiry Oct. 1, 2011.

The Inquiry is an outgrowth of the efforts of the Teaching Academy at the University of Arkansas. This journal is supported financially and conceptually by the offices of the provost and the vice provost for research. Through online publication, Inquiry provides a forum for sharing the research and creative endeavors of undergraduate students at the University of Arkansas. The journal is disseminated to all faculty and to universities around the country. Because it is intended to showcase the quality of our undergraduate students and the scholarly opportunities available to them, Inquiry is also used to recruit future outstanding undergraduate students. The Inquiry will now be published twice a year and will follow a thematic format. Shobe will be outlining a schedule for manuscripts and announcing deadlines and criteria.
