University of Arkansas Science Café to Focus on Water Quality in Northwest Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Water quality and future water availability in Northwest Arkansas should be a concern to all residents. With recent drought conditions, well water levels have experienced longterm declines and surface storage reservoirs like Beaver Reservoir are called on to meet expanding withdrawals. The population increase and expanded development in the area also concentrate potential water-quality stresses on these existing supplies and give rise to major concerns of pathogens and nitrogen/phosphorus nutrient compounds.
Join the University of Arkansas Science Café: Food For Thought event with a panel of experts set to facilitate a relaxed evening of interaction, information, and discussion. This event is open to the public, free of charge and held in an informal restaurant setting as a time to sit, relax and chat about the topic of the night. Educator professional development credit is available on request.
Food and drink for purchase will be available.
