Slovak University Agricultural Economist to Present Seminar Thursday

Daniela Hupkova, assistant professor of economics and management at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Slovakia, will give a Brown Bag Seminar Thursday, Oct. 20, at 12:30 p.m. in HOEC 005 on "Changing food consumption patterns: the case meat demand in Slovakia."

Hupkova is visiting the department of agricultural economics and agribusiness Oct. 19-31. She leads a research project titled "Modeling meat consumption of individual household categories, structural changes of meat consumption and analysis of factors influencing meat consumption in Slovakia." In addition to her interest in the modeling of commodity chains in agricultural products, she has research interests in microeconomic analysis, consumer behavior, demand analysis, and markets and trade.

Hupkova teaches business economics, managerial economics and agricultural economics, in both Slovak and English. She is interested in learning more about the research and educational programs at the University of Arkansas and exploring potential research collaborations.
