The Ice Hogs are back home this weekend for their final two games of the first semester. On Friday, Dec. 9, the Hogs welcome Missouri State’s Division II team to the Jones Center for the first time in the programs’ rivalry. The Missouri State Ice Bears bring a 13-9-1 overall record to Springdale in addition to their rank of No. 11 in the competitive Division II Central Region.

The two programs hooked up for a pair of games back on Oct. 28 and 29. Although the Hogs dropped the first game by a score of 5-3, they came back in game two with a 5-3 win to split the series. Since that time, the Ice Bears have gone 4-5-0 but, notably, four of those losses have come against Division II powerhouse Lindenwood – the same Lindenwood that swept the Hogs earlier in the season.

Then, on Saturday, Dec. 10, the Razorbacks will face-off against the Vanderbilt Commodores for a single conference game. The Commodores will put their four game win streak on the line, having most recently swept Georgia State by a combined margin of 22-2. Overall, Vanderbilt sports an impressive 10-2-0 record which includes a two game sweep of Division II Louisville. The meeting between the ‘Dores and Hogs is the first since the 08-09 season.

Your Ice Hogs bring an overall record of 11-6-0 and a No. 3 South Region ranking into the weekend. The Razorbacks were last in action on Nov. 18 and 19 in Little Rock when they swept league opponent Mississippi State by a combined score of 30-0.

Friday will feature one of the Hogs’ fiercest rivals – short of Alabama – and Saturday promises more fast-paced league action. Football is over so get out to the rink! The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on both nights. Tickets are $6 for adults, $2 for students, and children under 10 get in free. Go Hogs!
