Lecture to Describe Impact of Teacher Advancement Program in Chicago Schools

Steve Glazerman, a senior fellow at Mathematica Policy Research, will give a lecture titled "Impact of Teacher Advancement Program on Student Achievement and Retention in Chicago" at noon Feb. 3 on the University of Arkansas campus.

Glazerman's lecture is part of the series sponsored by the department of education reform in the College of Education and Health Professions. It will be in Room 343 of the Graduate Education Building.

Mathematica, based in Washington, evaluated the Teacher Advancement Program in Chicago in a project spanning five years to examine its effect on teacher quality and subsequent effect on schools. The Teacher Advancement Program was developed by the Milken Foundation in the late 1990s with the aim of helping schools put a highly skilled, strongly motivated and competitively compensated teacher in every classroom in America.
