Ro Di Brezzo

Ro Di Brezzo, University Professor in exercise science, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. She will be recognized in June at a formal reception for new fellows at the 59th annual meeting in San Francisco.

Advancement to Fellow recognizes professional achievement in the related disciplines of sports medicine, promoting professional development, and encouraging high standards of professional responsibility and service. The objectives of the Fellowship are to recognize distinguished professional achievement in research and service in the field of exercise science and sports medicine, to recognize distinguished service to the American College of Sports Medicine and to encourage continued service in a leadership role.

Di Brezzo serves as interim vice provost for academic affairs for the University of Arkansas and directs the Human Performance Lab in the College of Education and Health Professions. She served as chair of the Faculty Senate in 2010-11 and chair of the Campus Faculty in 2009-10.

She has received the College of Education and Health Professions Outstanding Teaching Award twice, the college’s Outstanding Research Award, and the Southern Academy of Women in Physical Activity, Sport and Health Research Award twice.
