Trek your way through the 174-mile Ozark Highlands Trail by logging miles on the treadmill, elliptical, stair stepper, bike, group cycle class or Outdoor Connection Center trip! Miles can be logged at the Donna Axum Fitness Center front desk until Monday, March 12.

Prizes will be awarded to those who reach 50 miles, 100 miles, and finish the trail. People who complete the trail will be entered into a drawing to receive a fitness package valued at over $100!

“We thought this would be a fun way to challenge yourself,” said Sam Fehr, graduate assistant for special events and instructional programs. “We chose one of the longer trails in Arkansas to use as guide but instead of actually going out and hiking the trail you can complete the challenge all within the comfort of our UREC facilities or trips.”

Registration for this event began last Friday, Jan. 27, and will run through Friday, Feb 3. To register for the “Commit to Fit” challenge, please visit the front desk in the Donna Axum Fitness Center in the HPER building.

For more information, contact Sam Fehr at sfehr@uark.edu or 479-575-7382.
