A new student organization called Student Organization Outreach and Involvement Experience, or SOOIE, will hold interest meetings at 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, and at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, both in Arkansas Union Room 507.

While this new organization will be completely student-led, SOOIE will have a special partnership with the office of student activities, and members will serve as ambassadors to other registered student organizations on campus.

SOOIE members will be trained to facilitate workshops, retreats and team-building activities customized for individual RSOs that request their services. Additionally, SOOIE members will help other students who are not currently involved with a student organization by offering tabling sessions to raise awareness of involvement opportunities and through individual consultations with students wishing to join an RSO. Members of SOOIE will also have the opportunity to plan campus events.

Since this will be SOOIE's first semester on campus, the organization is currently seeking members and officers to get the organization started. Seven paid executive officer positions are available, and these positions will be selected through an application process.

Any student who is interested in developing leadership skills, meeting new people from all over campus, and helping other organizations succeed should come to one of two interest sessions listed above. Free refreshments will be provided!
