Professionals to Learn Teamwork Strategies and Tips In Three Classes in March and April

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Registration is open for three classes in March and April that will provide professionals with strategies and tips to achieve positive teamwork outcomes in a constructive, productive environment.

Classes run from 2:30 to 5 p.m. in Room 411 at the Global Campus, 2 E. Center St., on the downtown Fayetteville square and include:

  • “Creating and Maintaining a Positive Team Attitude,” Wednesday, March 28.
  • “Communicating Effectively in a Team,” Wednesday, April 4.
  • “Understanding the Team as a System,” Wednesday, April 11.

Classes are $39 each, and online registration is available at the Global Campus registration page. Participants can gain 2.5 general hours of recertification for each class, pending approval from the Human Resource Certification Institute.

Carsten Schmidtke, a clinical assistant professor of workforce development in the College of Education and Health Professions, will explain how to distribute team tasks appropriately, develop positive team attitudes, and make conflict a constructive team force. He has taught teamwork, team communication and team dynamics since 2003, first at Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee, and now at the University of Arkansas.
