Network Upgrades in Individual Buildings
The IT Services Network Engineering Team is performing scheduled maintenance to expand wireless coverage in several buildings and replace outdated network switches. The maintenance, which started earlier this month, is scheduled to be completed by the end of April.
Approximately 100 new wireless access points will be installed in Memorial Hall, Physics, Science and Engineering, Music, Old Main, Kimpel, and Chemistry. In addition to supporting future wireless expansion, the new switches will provide 1 gigabyte-per-second access to the network.
Tech Partners are responsible for announcing scheduled maintenance in affected buildings and will receive advanced notice about building network outages from IT Services one to two weeks before scheduled maintenance.
