Horse Festival to Feature Dancers on Horseback

The world famous American Vaulting Association Friendship Team Vaulters will perform at the Thirteenth Annual University of Arkansas Horse Festival April 13 and 14 at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Arena on Garland Avenue about a mile north of the U of A campus.

The vaulters will conduct an educational clinic and demonstrations on Friday, April 13, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5; children 8 and under are free.

Two shows featuring dance movements and gymnastics on moving horses are set for Saturday at noon and 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for ages 9 to adult and $5 for children 8 and under.

This fundraising event for the Dorothy E. King Equine Program is produced by students in the Introduction to the Equine Industry course and with the help of community volunteers.  The equine program, which supports the equine science minor in Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences, and educational programs for horse owners, is largely self-supporting from donations and proceeds of fund-raising events.
