Seeking Candidates for Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

The provost’s office is initiating a search to fill the vice provost for academic affairs position. The search will be limited to internal candidates who are tenured, full professors. The selected candidate will be appointed to the full-time, 12-month position with an anticipated start date of July 1.

The individual needed for this position must be able to balance multiple issues and talk to varying stakeholder groups such as faculty, administrators, parents, students and state agencies. The selected candidate must have experience as a director or department head or chair. The selected candidate should also have knowledge of undergraduate and graduate student issues, as well as faculty governance issues and guidelines and academic policies.

Prospective candidates are asked to submit a curriculum vitae and letter of application electronically to Jim Rankin, chair of the search committee, at rankinj@uark.edu. Application materials are due April 16, and screening will begin immediately.
