The 2012 Red, White & True faculty and staff giving initiative is officially under way at the University of Arkansas! Now in its second year, this annual effort is designed to build an even better university from the inside out by uniting the campus community in support of our students and programs.

Between now and June 30, employees are invited to join in the 2012 Red, White & True effort by making a gift of any size to the area of campus that matters most to them. The goal is participation, so everyone can contribute at a level that’s comfortable for them. Packets will be hitting campus mailboxes this week, so please be on the lookout for your opportunity to get involved.

In the coming weeks, a group of dedicated volunteers will also be reaching out to their areas of campus to help spread the word about and encourage participation in this year’s campus philanthropy program. These captains, who have joined co-chairs Sharon Hunt and Bob McMath to lend their support to the 2012 initiative, are passionate about the university and proud to give back.

The 2012 captains are:

  • Howard Brill – School of Law
  • Renee Clay – Sam M. Walton College of Business
  • Ethel Goodstein-Murphree – Fay Jones School of Architecture
  • Elizabeth Jordan – College of Education and Health Professions
  • Doug Moore – Facilities Management
  • Tim Nutt – University Libraries
  • Douglas Rhoads – J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences
  • Curt Rom – Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences
  • Marilyn Smith – Student Affairs
  • Karen Standley – College of Engineering
  • Steve Voorhies – University Advancement

“I know that the University of Arkansas makes a positive difference in people’s lives, not just for our students but for the people on our campus and the people in our state,” said Voorhies. “That’s the university’s purpose, and it’s a purpose worth supporting.”
