Wendy D. Stouffer, director of academic scholarships, has been named executive director of the University of Arkansas scholarship and financial aid office. This change is part of the realignment of the two offices, along with the academic scholarship office’s move from Old Main to Silas H. Hunt Hall later this summer.

“This reorganization is aimed at enhancing our service both to prospective and current students by allowing a one-stop-shop for financial aid and scholarship assistance,” said Suzanne McCray, vice provost for enrollment and dean of admissions. “Wendy Stouffer has served with distinction in her various positions on this campus. Her experience in various offices, tied to an exceptional understanding of complex systems, will give her the perspective needed to lead these two offices. She will begin work immediately to implement new procedures with the goal of making the financial aid and scholarship processes as efficient as possible and even more student friendly.”

Stouffer practiced law for three years before joining the university in 2001 as assistant director of admissions. She was promoted to associate director for operations a short time later. In September 2010 Stouffer was named director of the academic scholarship office. She has served on many campus committees, including the faculty admissions and appellate board, the athletic integrity committee and the scholarship review committee.

She is a Rogers native and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and criminal justice and a law degree, both from the University of Arkansas.
