Educational Leadership Professor Invited to National Policy Conference

Paul Hewitt, assistant professor of educational leadership, is the first University of Arkansas faculty member invited to attend the annual meeting of Fellows of the National Educational Policy Center based in the Boulder School of Education at the University of California.
Hewitt, a former superintendent of schools in California, will attend the Sept. 7-9 meeting in Denver.
“I’m honored to be invited to attend this meeting,” Hewitt said. “The Fellows of the NEPC comprise some of the top researchers and education policy experts in the country. I’m looking forward to the discussions that will take place at this meeting.”
The National Education Policy Center produces and disseminates peer-reviewed research to inform the education policy discussion. It is comprised of nationally recognized researchers, writers and practitioners.
The center also reviews research produced by think tanks that has not been submitted to the academic peer-review process. Center officials believe this independent review helps the public, policymakers and the media make informed judgments about the value of the conclusions drawn and recommendations made in the reviewed reports.
