Engineering Wins Two CASE Grand Gold Awards

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A recruitment and retention program in the College of Engineering at the University of Arkansas has won two Grand Gold Awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

The college’s Engineering Career Awareness Program was chosen from out of the more than 2,800 entries submitted by 567 institutions. A total of 19 Grand Gold Awards were given by the CASE judges

The Engineering Career Awareness Program is designed to increase enrollment and diversity in the College of Engineering. The program provides financial assistance, a summer bridge program and a network of academic and social support opportunities for students. The program combines several proven recruitment and retention strategies into one cohesive approach to ultimately create a more diverse engineering workforce.

“The College of Engineering is honored by this recognition. The success of ECAP is a direct result of the dedication and hard work of the engineering staff and faculty, and it is a reflection of the many outstanding students who have benefited from and contributed to this program,” said Terry Martin, interim dean for the College of Engineering.

The program was chosen for a Grand Gold Award from more than 20 other entries in the category of diversity programs and also received a Grand Gold Award in the sub-category of recruitment and retention.
