IT Services Addressing Blackboard Learn Technical Issue

IT Services is working to resolve a recurring technical issue with Blackboard Learn that has resulted in long response times and timeouts for many users starting the week prior to the beginning of the semester. IT Services is aware that this has created complications for many users engaged in the multiple academic activities that take place on Blackboard Learn and regrets being unable to meet the expectations of the university community.

IT Services is working with the Blackboard vendor to diagnose the problem and implement a solution. Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost Sharon Gaber has advised faculty to take this potentially recurring problem into consideration and work with students to continue the progress of course-related activities and/or explore flexible timelines for completing them.

Notification of progress to resolve this issue, along with any performance changes to Blackboard Learn, will be posted on the Blackboard Learn login page at learn.uark.edu, on its.uark.edu, on the IT Services Facebook page at facebook.com/uarkITS, through the IT Services Listserv (subscribe at its.uark.edu/news_subscribe) and in Newswire.

IT Services encourages users to report problems or seek support from the Blackboard Learn Help Desk at 575-6804.
