University of Arkansas Staff Among "Outstanding State Employee" Award Nominees

Two University of Arkansas employees were among the nominees for the 2012 Outstanding State Employee Award, given by the Arkansas State Employees Association at its 44th annual convention.  Josette Cline and Tamara O. Ellenbecker, both of Fayetteville, were among 25 state employees nominated for the award; Cline was additionally named one of five finalists for the award.

Cline is an associate director for Counseling and Psychological Services with the University of Arkansas; she has been a state employee for over ten years. Ellenbecker is an administrate support supervisor in the College of Engineering with six years of state service.

This year, 25 state employees were nominated for the award, based on distinguished or outstanding service to the state and community during the period of their state employment; personal qualities; on-the-job experience and accomplishments; integrity and devotion to the welfare of Arkansas residents; other awards and recognitions; and outstanding contributions to fellow state employees or to a state employer.

The award banquet was held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Little Rock on Friday, August 17.

The Arkansas State Employees Association is a nonprofit organization working to improve state government and state employment.
