Student Technology Center Grand Opening, September 12

IT Services announces the grand opening of the new Student Technology Center from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, during Union Day. Free food, tours of the state-of-the-art facility, multimedia demonstrations, and gaming tournaments hosted by TradeWind Games will be featured. Door prizes will be awarded every half hour, and students can earn chances to enter drawings for grand prizes such as a Netbook and an iPad.

IT Services will also launch the new Student Technology Center WordPress site at http://wordpress.uark.edu/stc on Sept. 12, a site where students can submit original work and comment on the work of others. Equipment reservations and checkout will also be available from the new site.

The Student Technology Center, located on the third floor of the Arkansas Union, is a place for students to experience the synergies that emerge from play and work. In the tech center, students can meet to play video games, create 3D models, record and edit audio, apply special effects to video, prepare a class presentation, or just hang out.
