On Friday, September 7, the newly-designed Razorback Marching Band trailer will make its inaugural voyage from the University of Arkansas to War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock for the Arkansas vs. Louisiana-Monroe football game.

"We are excited to unveil the new design on the Razorback Marching Band's equipment truck,” said Chris Knighten associate professor of music and director of athletic bands. “The design reflects the band's connection and commitment to the University of Arkansas, the Department of Athletics, and the tradition of excellence in Fulbright College, the Department of Music, and the University of Arkansas band program."

Known as “The Best in Sight and Sound,” the Razorback Marching Band is one of the largest in the country and continues to grow in size and reputation. The 53-foot long truck will transport the band’s instruments, including 24 new tubas that were recently purchased with a private gift. The trailer features a 35-foot long Razorback, the University of Arkansas logo and the Best in Sight and Sound moniker.

"Having our own semi trailer means so much for the logistic operations of this band,” said Trevor Smith, senor pre-med student and the band’s equipment manager. “We can transport all of our equipment in one vehicle, and students themselves don't have to drive moving trucks to Little Rock games anymore. What's more, having the new decals on our trailer sets it apart from other university programs. We can now proudly display The Best in Sight and Sound across this state."

The trailer travels with the band to numerous engagements during the fall season including games held in Little Rock and outside the state, exhibition performances at local high schools, marching band festivals, and when applicable, the SEC Championship in Atlanta and post-season bowl games.

“Anyone that sees this truck rolling down the highway will know immediately the Razorbacks are coming," said Knighten.

The trailer’s new look was made possible by sponsorships from Frauhauf Uniforms, Great Dane Trailers in Springdale, Northwest Arkansas Sign Shop and Red Carpet Charters. The logos of the sponsoring companies will be featured on the trailer. Later in the season, a QR code and URL will be added to the design so prospective students, fans and alumni can easily find recruitment information or visit the band’s audio and video galleries online.
