FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences announces its 2012-2013 Advisory Council. The group will be on campus for its first meeting on Friday, Sept. 21. This is the first advisory council that Fulbright College has convened in more than a decade. At their inaugural meeting the council will determine its structure, mission and priorities in order to provide expertise and insight to the college.

“We have assembled a group of accomplished professionals who care deeply about the college and preserving the Fulbright legacy,” said Dean Robin Roberts. “I look forward to hearing all of their ideas for Fulbright College as well as for the council itself.”

In addition to Roberts, the council includes David Allen of Pasadena, Calif.; Kahren Jones Arbitman of Austin, Texas; Calvin Colbert of Dallas, Texas; Jenny Dougherty of Dallas, Texas; Guillermo Ferreyra of Baton Rouge, La.; Hershey Garner of Fayetteville; Trish Brown Joyner of Westminster, Colo.; Janis F. Kearney of Little Rock; Jerry Kelley of Fayetteville; David Lambert of Washington, D.C.; Edith Newton Wilson of Tulsa, Okla.; and David Woolly of Alma. Additional information on each of the council members is available at http://fulbright.uark.edu/contact/advisorycouncil.php.

“Our members come from diverse backgrounds,” said Roberts. “Some of them are U of A alumni, but many aren’t, and their knowledge and experience covers all four aspects of the college: the fine arts, humanities, social sciences and natural sciences.”
