Whitehurst to Speak Thursday About Education Reform

Russ Whitehurst, director of the Brown Center on Education Policy at the Brookings
Institution, will deliver a lecture Thursday, Oct. 18, titled “Micro and Macro Recipes for Education Reform” on the University of Arkansas campus.
Whitehurst will speak at noon in Room 343 of the Graduate Education Building. His lecture is part of the series sponsored by the department of education reform. The lectures are usually held on Fridays but Whitehurst will speak on Thursday this week. The lecture is free and open to the public. Visit the lecture page today to RSVP for lunch.
Whitehurst formerly directed the Institute of Education Sciences in the U.S. Department of Education and is considered an expert on reading, teacher quality, student assessment, learning and instruction, education technology and preschool programs.
