Bruce Ferguson Presents 'What's in a Street?' Lecture

Bruce K. Ferguson, a landscape architecture professor, will present a lecture titled “What Is a Street?” from 9:30-10:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in Room 105 of Kimpel Hall on the University of Arkansas campus.

Ferguson is a Franklin Professor of Landscape Architecture in the University of Georgia’s College of Environment and Design, and former director of the college’s School of Environmental Design. He is a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and a former president of the Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture.

He will discuss the design of dense urban districts, made better by a unified model for the multifunctional use of urban streets. Urban technologies and design analyses developed in recent years make a radical combination of environmental and human functions possible in compact urban districts. With these tools in hand, it is possible to organize an understanding of the components of street design.

The public is invited to attend this lecture, which is presented by the Fay Jones School of Architecture.

Admission is free, with limited seating. For more information, contact 479-575-4704 or architecture.uark.edu.
